Examination Grading plan

Develops thinking and analytical skills which will go a long way in helping advanced studies 

The examination plan is not only limited to evaluate students through their terms, pre-mock and final or mock papers. It is all about their behavior, their interest in studies and their dedication what brings out the final outcome.

To achieve this goal, a comprehensive system is designed to challenge the students and provide them an environment of competition.

In one academic session we conduct 4 exams. The purpose is to refine the students help them improve step by step. The schedule of examinations is as under: 

Exam 1    -           October

Exam 2    -           December

Pre-Mock -           February 

Mock        -          April 

To assess the actual performance of a student, we conduct Weekly Home Assignments and fortnightly quizzes in class rooms before every exam. Hence, the results of all exams include weighted marks from the exam papers, quizzes and home assignments.

Exam Papers:

After start of academic session in the month of August, four examinations are to be conducted every after 2 – 2 and half months intervals.

In any one exam, WHALES COLLEGE provides full length papers of each subject according to CIE pattern (including timings and marks) from the covered syllabus up till that exam schedule.  The marks from these papers carry 70% weight subject-wise in that particular exam.

Quizzes

To practice the time-management and to effectively and efficiently attempt of questions with relevant answers in exam papers, between each interval of exams, starting from August, there are 2 fortnightly quizzes based on the covered syllabus in the class room for every subject are obligatory.

Every quiz carries 15 marks at maximum. The average marks from these quizzes hold 20% weight subject-wise in that particular exam.

Home Assignments

To enhance the writing skills, broadening the knowledge base and to revise the topics more and more, between each interval of exams, starting from August, there are 4 Monthly Home Assignment, based on the covered syllabus for every subject are compulsory.

Every Home Assignment carries 10 marks at maximum. The average marks from these Home Assignments hold 10% weight subject-wise in that particular exam.

An explicitly allocated proportion of subject-wise marks from every exam carry-forwarded to next exams up till final examinations, which ultimately leads to our Ranking System. This system helps students to identify problems. It also assists in analyzing progress of each student. And finally, it provides us the top performers to rewards them with shield, certificates and laptops.
